She's Here!!!

The day we have been waiting for finally came!!!

Taylor Rae Harrington was born August 27, 2008 at 6:16 pm. She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 19 and 1/4 inches long.

Brecken has loved every minute of being a big sister and has shown her lots of love (yes a little too much at times but it's sweet).

Russ and I have both been amazed by this perfect, beautiful, little girl in our lives. She has us both wrapped around her teeny, tiny, little finger :)

And I had to throw in the "welcome" sign Brecken drew for Talyor. She drew little T's all over a piece of paper and taped it to the door knob. Isn't that sweet?!

Who could ask for more?

What Makes Me Happy

A few weeks ago I seemed to be in this perpetual no patience, bad mood slump. When I was talking to Russ about it he asked me if I was reading my scriptures every day. Well.... apparantly doing the hit and miss game with scripture reading hadn't been cutting for me. So I decided to really read every day. I can't say what a difference it made. And after I started reading the scriptures everyday I started reading the Ensign and found out (or re-found out) how much I love it! I know this sounds preachy and corny but I just wanted you all to know that I am really happy.... and that's why :) Oh, and I have a lot more patience.... most of the time :)

And of course I can't have a title like "What Makes Me Happy" without throwing in a picture of these two :)

Aunt Hannah is Here!!!

Because of my one track "when is this baby coming" mind, my mom was kind enough to spare Hannah to keep me occupied... and give me something to do other than sit around waiting :) Of course we are killing two birds with one stone here, little Brecken has been in desperate need of "energetic" attention. Make that three birds... Hannah will also serve as a nice sitter for when we have to head to the hospital :)

As Brecken put it "I love Aunt Hannah, she's my best friend"

Can you tell she is excited to have her here? (I think it's obvious)

Hannah and I decided to fill our time with a 1,000 piece jig saw puzzle. While we were jig-sawin' away Breck decided she'd fill her time with snapping photos of us at work. Not bad for a 3 year old eh?

After two long days of staring at puzzle pieces......... TA DA!

Isn't it beautiful? OK, Ok so the goal was just to take up time :)

And of course Brecken puts Hannah to work playing Princess, playing Bad Guy, playing Baby Doll, playing Choo-Choo Train, running, dancing, spinning, twirling, racing, and whatever else a 3 year old can cram in there. Is it any wonder that at the end of the day....

Isn't that precious? (and really no sarcasm-it is so sweet)

My Big Belly

And for a more authentic update... I thought I'd appease those who wanted to see my enlarged belly.

I actually took a picture of myself! Yes, I'm a nerd. So this is me 2 and 1/2 weeks from my due date. Inside that belly is a perfect little girl (unless they were wrong) who occupies almost all of my thoughts these days. Brecken loves to feel the baby move and I can't wait until the two sisters can finally meet!

Jammin' Our Apricots!

Well If I am going to make a blog I may as well "update" it. Update is in quotation because turning our apricot tree into jam is old news for us. We did it a couple of weeks ago but I thought I might as well still show off the hard work :) There are about ten other jars of jam in the freezer, so if you counted that's over thirty jars!! We can cross off jam on our "food storage" check list... and pretty soon off of our "foods we are sick of" list. But for now we'll just revel in our self sufficiency every time we eat a piece of toast with jam :)

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Well we finally started a blog! We are pretty new at this so it may be boring until we get the hang of it. Well let's face it, it may always be boring :) But we are definitely excited to get this up and running. I think we are going to have to start taking more pictures!! It may help ease the boredom level if we have a few. I'll throw in a few from our Oregon camping trip last June. I know! Forever ago!!! But we'll start taking more pictures and have more to show as we progress. Our Oregon Trip was a blast by the way. We stopped to see some waterfalls on the way to the coast and loved every minute of it all!
